Constricted + Joey Z from Life of Agony =

Well, he is not in the band, but he will be mixing our debut full-length album!

I am more than sure you all have been wondering, when the fuck is this CD coming out because we have been talking about it for so long! The famous George Marshall of Audio Magick is doing a kick ass job tracking and co-producing us, and we feel by bringing in Joey Z's knowledge of metal we can not fail. Joey has an amazing recording facility in Brooklyn NY. He has studied with some of the best engineers and producers around and once we are done tracking at Audio Magick, we will be handing our stuff off to him.

With George and Joey behind us, be prepared for a kick ass CD!!!!! From George working with bands like Dream Theater and Cheap trick and Joey touring the world with Life of Agony opening for Metallica, Black Sabbath, Ozzfest, and the Gigantour to name a few, we feel that they both can make our debut CD sound sick.

Joey Z has been performing and recording as a professional musician for the past 16 years. Originating out of the NY underground scene in 1989, Joey has played guitar for the bands Life of Agony and Steromud. Together they released a total of 6 major records with combined sales surpassing the million mark worldwide, three of which were released under Roadrunner Records and three under Sony Records. Joey has toured all over America and Europe with bands like Ozzy Osbourne, Megedeth, KMFDM, Anthrax & Disturbed and has played shows supporting a list of impressive bands including Metallica, Pantera, Foo Fighters, Slipknot and more. Joey had Pro Media training with Terron Darby at Soundtrack Studios in NYC and over the years has had invaluable experience working with an amazing resume of producers including Don Gilmore (Linkin Park), Rick Parashar (Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains), Steve Thompson (Metallica), Phil Nicolo (Anthrax, Billy Joel), John Travis (Kid Rock, Buckcherry) & Greg Fidelman (Jet, Slipknot) just to mention a few! By working closely with these professionals, and learning from their different methods, he gained insight on how to find the right sounds while recording and mixing. His unique background as both a recording artist and engineer has allowed him to explore audio recording from both sides of the spectrum. During sessions, Joey makes it a point to keep your vision in the forefront. He has always been passionate about his work and is always enthusiastic about trying new ideas in order to get the sound you
are after.

Well, we are excited and we hope you all are as well! Look for our debut CD to hit stores at the end of the summer!!!!

April - 2006
We regret to inform you that our full-length CD we were hoping to release this spring is going to take longer than expected. Due to the nature of this business, their are certain thinigs that are out of our hands. However, on a good note, we will be working with a new producer at a new studio. You might know him, George Marshall from Audio Magick. Geroge has worked with just about every band you can think of. From Twisted Sister to Metallica! Geroge signed on and we just entered pre-production with him. We promise to deliver all of you a kick ass record! And yes, with all 5 of us on it! Stay tuned for more info. We will be taking a little break until the end of April to do pre-pro, and re-record everything. George is going to be working us like crazy, but is will be well worth it. Our next show back is with the Misfits on Sunday, April 23rd at the Crazy Donkey. We hope to see you all there.

BREAKING NEWS!!
CONSTRICTED ADDS ANOTHER GUITAR PLAYER & THE DOWNTOWN SHUTS DOWN!

It is sad to say that our home away from home has closed down. We were scheduled to play there on October 1st w/ Overkill and it was also Joe's debut performance with us. We are sad to see another great club bite the dust. RIP Downtown. But anywho, you can see us the very next night at the Crazy Donkey opening up for the re-united Testament. This show will be Joe's debut with Constricted.

Mark, Mike, Frank & Jim would like to welcome the new addtion to the Constricted family, guitar extraordinaire, Joe Cavallaro! Some of you might know him from his previous band Mindles Sanity! The addatioin of Joe gives Constricted a WHOLE new dimension in our music! Are you curious to hear how it sounds? Well, you can come to Joe's debut with Constricted on October 2nd at the Crazy Donkey w/ Testament! Wow...what a way to break in the new guy! Joe has been working hard in learning our tunes! You will not be disapointed w/ our decision in bringhing him on board and by adding that 2nd guitar! We have been toying w/ the notion of adding another guitarist to compliment Frank's amazing playing, and to give Constricted a new and different dimension in it's music. Joe was an available player w/ the capabilities to fill the role and he has been a close friend of Constricted's since the begining, we felt his playing and his personality would be a perfect fit for Constricted. Click here or go to the "about" page to learn all about Joe. We also have a photo shoot set up w/ our lovely photographer Katie Colleary for brand new band photos! You all might be asking yourself, "what about Constricted's debut CD?" well, that is on it's way as well, we have been mixing with Rob D'Addario and we are planning for a late Winter/early Spring release. Tons and tons of metal for you all! Ton's more news to share.....Keep those horns up and keep the head bangin' a comin' see you on 10/1.....

August - 2005
First off, the members Constricted would like to extend their deepest condolences to all the people that got effected by Huricane Katrina. If it is not war, it's natural disasters that are fucking up this country. But America is strong and we will overcome whatever gets in our way. Also, the US Government can kiss our asses, they should be ashamed of the lack of "help" they are giving down there.
George W. Bush is possibly the worst president this country has ever seen, besides the fact that he is F*cking up this country, he is not even lending a hand in helping our friends down in Louisiana! Is Louisiana part of the US? Then what the F*ck? To much to say, little time to say it! Anyways, on to the world of Constricted.....
As you may or may not know, Testament had to cancel their show with us and our friends Remains of the Fallen on 8/28, but have no fear, there is a make up show on October 2nd at the Crazy Donkey. Same lineup, + all original members of Testament. If you came to that show and still have your ticket stubs, bring those on 10/2 and they will get you in for free on the October 2nd. Two shows for the price of one! If you did not attend the show, or do not have a ticket stub, tickets are still for sale by contacting a member of Constricted, or going to www.clubloaded.com We are also playing the night before, October 1st with the legendary Overkill and once again, our good friends Remains of the Fallen at The Downtown! Wow, 2 kick ass metal shows in the same weekend! bring your drinking gloves, and those metal horns, and be ready to RAWWWKKK.
Constricted is gearing up for a hectic fall and winter. There is a lot of stuff in the works, tons of shows, our debut full-length CD, and a surprise that I can not announce yet...To be continued.

What's going fellow constrictednites.....So we took some time off and we are all finally back in the same state! Mike boarding the mountains of Alaska, Mark roaming the streets of San Francisco, Jim partying it up in Jersey, and Frank still causing hell in New York. In our time off, Frank was busy in the studio with Rob D'Addario putting some finishing touches on his guitar tracks. It all sounds KILLER so far and we can't wait to release the CD to the public. We have some major shows planned for the Spring and Summer, which we are waiting anxiously to announce! We also have some news band photos up in the about section of the site, check them out! Thanks to the beautiful Katie Colleary for spending another day shooting photos for us, there is NO ONE better than here! If you are interested in her work check out www.katiecolleary.com

We also want to look back at some of the bands Constricted got the pleasure of sharing the stage with: Helloween, The Misfits, Pigmy Love Circus featuring Danny Carey of Tool, Fozzy featuring WWE superstar Chris Jericho, Anthrax, Kings X, Joey Belladonna, Silvertide, The Gathering, etc... Plus all the great bands here on Long Island and the whole NY metro area. It has been a blast so far and we want to thank all of our family, friends, and fans for supporting us. We have a ton of shit in the works and can't wait to unleash it all on you! Stay metal and keep those horns up!

Well the old saying is "better late than never" with that being said, here is a short little review from our 3-song demo from the man they call Mike from the SOS army! Mike you rule! Here goes:

CONSTRICTED
RELEASE
SELF-RELEASED

Rising from the ashes of Long Island stalwarts Gutter Poet and Kindread, Constricted is a quartet whose three-song release displays a raw, gut-wrenching heaviness fleshed out by some meaty vocals that fall somewhere between Godsmack and Shadows Fall. With all guns blazing, tracks like "Smothered" contain that kind of grinding grooves that sets off all those evil feelings in your brain. For a heavy music fix long on rocking riffs and machine-like rhythms, allow Constricted the chance to kick your ass. www.constricted.net
-Mike SOS

Check your local Long Island papers for this review! In other news, recording is going great, were doing some editing before we lay down the bass tracks. Stay tuned for more news on recording and the rest of the craziness in the land of Constricted.
HAPPY DRINKING...........

Thursday, September 16th - 2004
Recording of the first full length Constricted CD is under way! The drums are done, next up the bass. We have been documenting the process of us in the studio, so stay tuned for pictures, and maybe some video? Hey you never know! Just a quick reminder that will be playing with Kings X on October 3rd, that will be our first show back. We will be testing out some new material that will be on the CD. However, we will still be taking it easy with the shows during the process of recording. When the CD is done and out, then we will hit the scene like 900 jack hammers! We are hoping the CD will be done and ready to go by January of 2005. We have some big plans for the CD. Rob D'Addario (our producer) is working hard to make this record sound sick, so a big thanks goes out to him as we continue being pains in the ass's to him. Till next time, stay drunk and metal.........

Constricted is making some noise out in sunny California! Check out a review we got from the L.A. Times :

"Constricted doesn’t know it because they’re too young to remember but they’ve hit on a combination of styles that oddly enough works. The first element is not so hard to figure: Metallica---Who isn’t inspired by them at some level even if you’re not into them. The other flavor is a bit harder to explain. The guitar player goes off on nice little intros that bring to mind Sam Andrew and James Gurley of Big Brother and the Holding Company. For you youngsters who don’t know whom I’m talking about, Big Brother was extremely cool and not just because Janis Joplin was the singer. I’m looking forward to watching Constricted develop ‘cause in a world of a gazillion bands that are trying to sound like either Tool or Pantera, it’s nice to see someone going behind door number three. Rock on."
Peter Fletcher
L.A. Weekly

Well that was pretty cool and un-expected! Thank's to Peter, you rule! Until next time! Stay drunk and metal!
